About Matanuska Tours

Hi, I’m Kel.

A couple years ago I made a big change, I left Florida and Texas behind and moved to Alaska. Like most people who come up here, I didn’t fully know what to expect… but it didn’t take long before I fell in love with it.

Somewhere along the way, I found my place in tourism, and more specifically, on the road to the Matanuska Glacier.

There’s just something about taking people out there for the first time. Watching it click when they see the glacier up close, when the scale of it hits, when the whole day starts to feel a little unreal. That never gets old for me.

I’ve now made that drive close to 100 times, and every trip is a little different.

Weather changes, light changes, people bring their own energy to the day—but the goal is always the same: make it easy, relaxed, and genuinely memorable.

This isn’t a big operation. When you book, you’re dealing directly with me. I pick you up, I drive, I plan the day, and I make sure everything runs smoothly. No handoffs, no confusion, just a straightforward, well-run experience.

The tour includes up to 8 hours of transportation, with stops along the way for coffee, food, restrooms, and photos. Pickup is typically between 9:30–10:00am from your hotel or Airbnb, and we keep things moving so we can make the most of our time at the glacier.

I’ve been fortunate to receive consistent 5-star reviews from guests, and I take that seriously. The goal isn’t just to get you there, it’s to make sure it’s one of the highlights of your time in Alaska.

If you have questions, feel free to reach out anytime. I personally respond to every message, and if I miss your call while I’m on tour, I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

Hope to see you out there.

~Kel
